Tux Paint
Tux Paint is a free, award-winning drawing program for children ages 3 to 12. Tux Paint is used in schools around the world as a computer literacy drawing activity. It combines an easy-to-use interface, fun sound effects, and an encouraging cartoon mascot who guides children as they use the program. Kids are presented with a blank canvas and a variety of drawing tools to help them be creative.
For use in the computer lab- All computers in the computer lab have Tux Paint installed on them already. To find Tux Paint, use the SPOTLIGHT and type in the words - tux paint. The program should pop up right at the top.
For use at home or in the classroom- Tux Paint is a free program and can be downloaded on Macs and PCs. Go to the link below and follow download instructions.

Your Task:
1. Think about what the holidays mean to you. What words pop into your head when you think about the holiday season? Brainstorm with the class to come up with some words that you could use to describe the holidays.
2. Open Tux Paint. Go to SPOTLIGHT and type the words- tux paint. The program should pop up right at the top. Click on it.
3. Create a drawing to show what the holidays mean to you. Make sure you:
4. When you are done with your masterpiece, hit the SAVE button. This may take you two classes to complete.
5. Raise your hand and the teacher will check to make sure you have included the targets from the list above. Once the teacher approves your creation, you can press the print button.
